Lori Krueger - Grades 3 through 5 Special Education 

Background Information:  Hi, my name is Lori Krueger and I am a special education teacher of students in grades 3 through 5 at Richfield Elementary School.  For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher.  The enthusiasm, vitality and challenges that teaching brings to daily school life keeps me "young" and excited to welcome each new school day.  I received my Bachelor's of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.  I have degrees in Elementary Education grades 1 through 8, Learning Disabilities grades K through 9 and Behavioral Disabilities grades K through 9.  I have had numerous courses over the years to add to these degrees to help enrich my teaching skills and what I have to offer my students.  I have been with the Richfield School District for 25 years as a full time Special Education Teacher.

    

 Family Life:  I have been married to my husband, Don, for 30 years.  We have a son, Dan, and a daughter Staci.  Dan has graduated from U.W.-Madison with an engineering degree with emphasis in the medical field.  Staci is currently attending U.W.-Oshkosh pursuing a degree in psychology.  During my spare time I enjoy running outdoors, shopping and reading.  During the winter we try to go snowmobiling and cross country skiing whenever we get the chance.     

 

School Life:  All children come into the school environment with different backgrounds and different gifts.  These unique individuals enter a classroom and are taught the curriculum by their given teacher.  Most children thrive and grow physically, socially and academically within the regular classroom setting.  Some children, however, require specialized instruction to meet his/her individual needs which cannot be met in the regular classroom setting.  This is where "special education" comes into play.  Classroom teachers, parents, the special education teacher, as well as others when necessary, meet to develop plans to help these children make the most of their educational experience based on his/her strengths and weaknesses.  The Richfield Elementary special education department serves students in grades 3 through 8 with special education needs.
