Before You Start

  1. Use the Year 1900 and EASY LEVEL
  2. Using the SPEED MENU at the top pause the game.
  3. Scan your city for a nice flat area to create your city
    1. Magnifier
    Using the magnifier on the tool bar enlarge your surface where you would like to build your city

Build Your City

  1. Rule number one is you must build a power plant first.  So using the power icon  click and hold. Select powerplant option and pick a power plant icon and locate it somewhere on your land.
  2. Now create Jobs to get people to come to your town.  Click the industrial icon and build a 6 by 6 industrial area..
  3. Place roads around your industrial area and your power plant.  HINT- Sims will not inhabit land that roads are not within three square mile from.  Each block is one square mile.
  4. Create a residential area next.  That is the green icon. 
  5. Build roads around it.  Remember your hint- Sims will not inhabit land that roads are not within three square mile from.  Each block is one square mile.
  6. Now you must connect electricity to your different area.  Sims love electricity.  Click and hold the power icon again.  Switch the option to power lines.  Drag power lines through your different land areas. 
  7. Your city is now read for its residents.  Use the speed menu and change the speed to cheetah.  Watch your city grow. 
  8. Spend the your money until you only have about $4000 left while the city is running in Cheetah.  Only build residential, commercial, industrial, power lines and roads.  ONLY USE THESE.
  9. Watch how your city grows and how you will gain tax money each year.
  10. If you get to the year 1920 stop and start doing the questions below.
  11. Pause your game and check population
  12. SAVE YOUR CITY under your name file
  13.  Copy and paste questions into a word document.  Complete question 1-5.
  14. Re-open your program. 
  15. Run in Cheetah again.
  16. Spend the rest of your money adding anything else you think your city may need.  Explore the tool bar to decide what you will build. 
  17. Go no further then 1930.
  18. Check your new population.
  19. Complete your questions. 5-10
  20. Print out questions when you are finished.
