IMMIGRATION            RUBRIC        RESOURCES

Task

You will join a group of investigators studying the life of immigrants who came to United States between the years of 1865-1914.   As a group you will create a fictional scrapbook of an  immigrants life using PowerPoint.  Your scrapbook will show their journey from their homeland to immigrating to Wisconsin. Your immigrant's scrapbook will show four different parts of their journey to Wisconsin.

  1. Your immigrants homeland: showing push and pull factors.

  2. Their trip and entering the United States at Ellis Island or Angel Island

  3. Early settlement into a large city near their arrival location.

  4. Your immigrants settlement in a Wisconsin town.

After your scrapbook is created your group will present the story of your immigrants migration to Wisconsin.  Your scrapbook may include pictures, writings, documents, songs or any other primary source you find relevant.  A picture is worth a thousand words. Your group's job will be to explain in words why you picked the different primary sources and compile the sources to tell the story of immigration.
