Welcome! I'm excited to work with my third grade class. I know this will be an exciting and personally rewarding school year. From my past experiences, I have found that third graders have a zealous enthusiasm for learning and are quality people to interact with on a daily basis. I will be starting my twelfth year at Richfield Elementary and fifteenth year in education overall. Prior to teaching, I had the opportunity to work with children in many different capacities. My roles included that of a summer/sports camp counselor, officiating/instructing youth sports, before/after school employee, and was the Youth Sports and Family Director for a YMCA branch.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I would later go back to UWM and receive a teaching certificate in Elementary Education with a minor in Social Sciences. As I move along in my teaching career, I have taken several continuing education classes.
In third grade, the students are presented with a vast array of stimulating subjects. Students receive a regular dosage of reading, language arts, spelling, math, social studies, and science. Students also receive instruction in physical education, music, art, library, Spanish and computers.
As part of their third grade experience, students will participate in many memorable activities. The third graders will participate in a musical extravaganza that is always a crowd pleaser! Third graders will be active participants when taking part in a multitude of field trips.
Over the course of the school year, the boys and girls will accomplish many tasks. Come take a closer look. I think you will be simply amazed!
Take care,  Â
